Christmas in May.

This past weekend, for me, had a distinct theme: Christmas.

Our courier came from Poland this weekend, with boxes of stuff we had ordered!! You would not believe the stuff you can get in Poland, including the cost of courier services - for sometimes less than half the price of what you'd pay in Ireland. It's amazing! So I've learned to navigate Poland's market site, with a little help from my sweet husband.

Anyhow, I've always wanted a tailor's mannequin for my sewing room. Mostly, she's just pretty to look at but she'll come in handy for some product shots I plan to take in the near future, and maybe someday I'll use her for actual sewing...

She's sporting one of my yellow Ruffle Mufflers... you know you want one...

Next up, came our new pressure cooker! Hooray!!!

This one is 5L and stainless steel. I can't wait to use it! I've been thinking about recipes ever since it came out of the box.
I had a pressure cooker once before that was given to me - but it was aluminum and after thinking about it, I threw it away during my move to Ireland. I had decided that I got enough aluminum from my deodorant, my water, and through other things - that I didn't need to add more to my daily intake.
I've been missing it on the days that I forget to soak my beans for dinner, or when the rice takes seemingly forever to cook.
But! I'm happy now and stainless steel is just so much prettier and easier to clean!! I'm very excited.

I've read about making desserts in the pressure cooker like custards and cheesecake... you have to imagine me doing the happy dance over here. Once I figure it all out, I'll be sure to post a recipe for you.

Do you have any favorite pressure cooker recipes?
